Reasons Why Black People Need to Stop Complaining About the Oscars

Why Don’t White People Love Us?

This is what we look like to the rest of the world and our community, a bunch of crybabies seeking approval from White people. Can anyone tell me a person or film that was nominated which shouldn’t have been? In all the categories everyone deserved the nominations they received, and yes there were some who were also deserving, but weren’t nominated. Boo-fucking-hoo, there are only so many categories and yet Black people are whining about their lack of nominations this year with one damn movie. Let’s face it, Black people do make quality films, but do we support our avante-garde movies? No we don’t, yet we whine and throw tantrums as if we support these films with our attendance. The high quality films that are made we don’t even recognize ourselves, but we expect others to. That is what you call pathetic people. Let me break it down for those who feel victimized. Let’s focus on actual racism (War on Drugs, War on Poverty) and not faux racism due to our insecurities and seeking approval from the Oscars.

Reasons

1) Crying and whining about nominations of movies we don’t see ourselves.

2) Crying and whining about movies we don’t support.

3) Blaming everything we don’t have a hugh presence in on racism.

  1. I agree 100%! We got to for self! We need our own studios and production companies. We can’t rely on our open enemy to help us.

I have never watched the oscars and never will. It is not even relevant to my life or the lives of everyday black people. The people making the mst noise are of the boule’ class of negroes. The average black man or woman could hardly give a damn about if a black movie won an oscar. Why is it that we cant be proud of our own institution and support them?
